Description of the work

The sculptural relief "Follow the White Rabbit" takes up an iconic motif in literary history: the white rabbit from Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland – a symbol of curiosity, new beginnings, and the crossing of familiar boundaries. In pop culture, it has become a symbol of alternative realities and the questioning of apparent truths. The relief further transforms this interpretation: The rabbit becomes the being of the in-between space – a threshold guardian of knowledge, reminding us that we are part of an incomprehensible whole. An invitation to embrace the incomprehensible.

Just as Alice "falls in" in Carroll's story, the rabbit emerges from the picture plane: a hybrid creature between painting and sculpture, between naturalistic precision and imagined dimension, between reality and dream, invitation and enigma. The finely modeled fur shimmers in iridescent mother-of-pearl, interspersed with delicate rainbow reflections. The figure is surrounded by a spiraling vortex of color – a portal into the unknown, evoking the famous "rabbit hole."

Like Alice, we too can set out on a journey: not to Wonderland, but to a new perspective on life and nature – a perspective full of wonder, gratitude, and respectful connection with the wonders of this world.
